Tokenized real-world assets reached a combined market capitalization of $44.7 billion, marking a significant expansion in decentralized finance. Data cited by Token Terminal showed that $2.9 billion was recently deposited into DeFi venues, while decentralized exchanges processed $321.8 million in trading volume over 24 hours.
New research from CoinShares and Token Terminal found RWA spot trading volumes increased by 220% from Q2 2025 to Q2 2026. RWA deposits climbed from $2.3 billion to $7.4 billion over the same period, even as total DeFi deposits fell by roughly 15%. Nearly 70% of RWA deposits sit on Ethereum-based lending venues, driven by deeper liquidity, while decentralized exchange spot volumes dropped approximately 70%.
The data suggests tokenized assets are moving beyond issuance into productive use, with a market increasingly built around yield, collateral, and continuous access. Regulatory recognition of tokenized RWAs is also growing, offering DeFi platforms room to expand services while investors monitor potential regulatory and volatility risks.
