SUI has entered a pivotal technical zone after recording 12 consecutive weeks of positive ETF net flows, with institutional products accumulating more than 9.30 million SUI tokens since June. The token recently pulled back to near $0.73 after failing to hold an intraday high around $0.84, and traders are now watching the $0.85 resistance level as the key trigger for a potential breakout.
On-chain analyst Ali Martinez shared Glassnode data showing the first weekly ETF bar exceeded 2.5 million SUI, with another spike near 1.8 million tokens in late July, while most other weeks added between 250,000 and one million SUI. Two weekly readings sat close to zero, including the latest near August 15. At the same time, Sui processed more than 8.5 million transactions on Saturday, August 22, marking a new 90-day high for network activity following the market recovery.
Crypto analyst Crypto Feras said a confirmed daily close above $0.85 would open the path toward $1.07 and then $1.34, but warned against acting before confirmation. Altcoin Buzz similarly pointed to rising OBV, strengthening MACD momentum, and an RSI with room to advance, while noting that SUI remains below its 200-day EMA. CoinGecko data showed SUI up 23.3% weekly, 15.9% over 14 days, and 11.8% monthly despite the short-term pullback.
Broader ETF data on August 24 showed positive flows across several crypto assets: Bitcoin attracted $337.56 million, Ethereum $115.57 million, Solana $33.49 million, XRP $13.82 million, and Hyperliquid $5.74 million. For Sui, however, wallet access will shift when Phantom ends Sui support on September 24. Phantom and Sui described the decision as mutual. After the deadline, users will not be able to view Sui balances, send transactions, swap assets, or connect with Sui applications through Phantom, though assets remain on-chain and accessible through other Sui wallets.
Sui’s DeFi activity has slowed from its previous highs. DefiLlama data placed Sui’s decentralized finance value near $469 million, about 82% below the previous $2.58 billion peak. Stablecoin supply on Sui was near $478 million, roughly 69% below the $1.6 billion peak recorded in May 2025, and has remained relatively flat for several months. Sui also experienced several network outages during the past year, adding to the caution among traders even as ETF accumulation and transaction activity improve.
