Token Terminal reported on 29 August 2026 that single-name equities now outpace exchange-traded funds by holder count on the Robinhood Chain. NVIDIA leads with 74,300 asset holders, followed by SpaceX with 58,100 and Apple with 50,700. The SPY ETF, although the leading ETF in the ranking, sits only seventh with 37,000 holders.
This pattern underscores a broader shift among retail investors toward direct exposure to individual companies rather than diversified funds. The same data set shows the Robinhood Chain stock token market has reached $47.8 million in total value. Technology hardware and semiconductor names are driving much of that activity: NVIDIA, Apple, Micron, AMD and Sandisk collectively account for $16 million, roughly one-third of the entire market. SPY remains the only ETF represented in the top ten.
The emerging trend may pressure ETF providers to rethink their product strategies as tokenized equities attract more attention. At the same time, the regulatory landscape for stock tokens is still developing, making compliance and investor protection key factors to monitor. Traders are likely to watch future holder counts, trading volume, and wallet activity for signs of shifting retail sentiment.
