Crypto analyst Rekt Capital noted that Bitcoin has formed a hidden bearish divergence on the daily chart, with significant technical resistance around the $80,000 level. According to the analyst, Bitcoin's lows in February and June 2026 occurred in similar price zones, and the Relative Strength Index (RSI) fell to similar oversold levels in both periods. Following both bottoming movements, Bitcoin's price recovered to around $80,000.
However, Rekt Capital highlighted a key difference compared with the May 2026 surge. While Bitcoin has risen back to approximately $80,000, the price has formed a lower peak below its previous high. In contrast, the RSI indicator has climbed above its prior level and recorded a higher peak during the same period. In technical analysis, this combination is considered a hidden bearish divergence, indicating that the current upward momentum is not being confirmed by price action and that selling pressure could strengthen again.
The analyst added that this negative technical outlook will remain valid as long as Bitcoin fails to break above the resistance zone near $80,000 and establish a new higher peak.
