Cathie Wood’s Ark Invest expanded its exposure to crypto-related equities on Aug. 31, purchasing 456,059 shares of Block worth approximately $37.4 million and 35,192 shares of Circle valued at about $3.4 million. The combined purchases totaled roughly $40.8 million and highlight the firm’s continued confidence in digital asset infrastructure.
Block, led by Jack Dorsey, has maintained a long-standing focus on Bitcoin and digital payment services, while Circle is one of the leading stablecoin issuers through USDC. By increasing positions in both companies, Ark Invest reinforced its strategy of backing businesses that support blockchain technology and digital finance.
Circle’s CRCL token drew renewed attention after the disclosure, with a 9.6% surge noted in a KuCoin post. The move reflects institutional interest in Circle’s growth trajectory and may encourage further engagement in tokenized equities, though broader trading activity around CRCL remains limited.
The purchases also underline a wider trend of institutional investors watching crypto-related public companies, as traditional financial institutions continue to move deeper into the digital asset sector.
