Geneva, Switzerland, August 31, 2026 — TRON DAO participated in Bitcoin Asia 2026 in Hong Kong, where TRON Founder Justin Sun joined two fireside discussions on Bitcoin’s evolution, institutional adoption, and the changing structure of global digital finance.
On August 27, Sun appeared with Bonnie Chang on the Nakamoto Stage for “The Globalization of Bitcoin Capital.” He said Bitcoin has moved beyond its early years as an experimental technology and now functions as a global monetary asset and store of value. He also noted that Bitcoin’s traditional four-year cycle could become less pronounced as institutional flows, derivatives, global liquidity, and macroeconomic conditions play a larger role.
Sun tied stablecoin usage to TRON’s growth, saying: “TRON is highly related to daily stablecoin payments. The network continues to grow, with more than $94 billion in USDT on TRON, driven by real-world usage and continued growth across the ecosystem.” He described Bitcoin and stablecoins as complementary—Bitcoin as a store of value, stablecoins for payments and settlement. He also highlighted TRON’s work on post-quantum signature technology on the Nile testnet and said AI agents could eventually hold assets and interact directly with financial applications.
Later that afternoon, Sun joined Sean Hagan of BMTV at The Deep VIP stage to discuss Bitcoin’s potential role in global finance. TRON DAO reported that as of August 2026, TRON has recorded over 401 million user accounts, more than 15 billion transactions, and over $27 billion in total value locked.
