Binance placed four cryptocurrencies under its Monitoring Tag on September 4, 2026, while separately removing 14 tokens from the Binance Alpha early-stage discovery list.
The assets added to the monitoring list are AVA (Travala), GNS (Gains Network), SCR (Scroll), and TOWNS (Towns Protocol). According to Binance, these tokens now carry significantly higher volatility and risk than standard listed assets, and they will undergo more frequent reviews.
Monitoring Tag status does not immediately remove the tokens from trading. However, traders on Binance Spot or Margin must complete a risk-awareness quiz every 90 days and accept the exchange's terms. A token can eventually be delisted if it no longer meets Binance's listing criteria.
Binance said its review criteria include trading volume, liquidity, development activity, network security, smart contract stability, public communication and the project team's response to due diligence. The exchange also reviews token supply changes, tokenomics, and evidence of fraudulent or unethical conduct.
In a separate notice, Binance Alpha removed MTP, BDXN, TALE, BOS, MAIGA, TIMI, SAROS, U, SERAPH, RVV, AIAV, PENGUIN, ODOS and SN3 from its selected-token list effective at 16:30 UTC+8 on September 4. The removals affect the Alpha discovery feature within Binance Wallet and are not the same as a spot delisting from the main exchange. Users can still withdraw the tokens and sell them through Alpha's instant-order function or supported Binance Wallet markets.
Binance did not publish individual reasons for each Alpha removal, saying only that the projects did not meet Alpha's standards following the latest review. The exchange emphasized that Alpha inclusion does not guarantee a future spot listing, and removal does not mean the main exchange has delisted the token.
