Fomo Overtakes Pump.fun in Daily Revenue Amid Solana Social-Trading Shift

1 hour ago 3 sources positive

Key takeaways:

  • Solana activity rotating from launchpads to social copy-trading, but daily revenue leads are volatile.
  • PUMP's 90% gain reflects buyback-driven demand; monitor whether protocol revenue stabilizes.
  • Fomo's growth depends on retail flows; sustainability questionable after $2m referral incentives.

Social trading app Fomo overtook memecoin launchpad Pump.fun in daily protocol revenue on 4 September, according to DefiLlama data. Fomo generated $1.76 million, while Pump.fun recorded $1.1 million, marking a sharp momentum shift on Solana even though Pump.fun remains far ahead on longer timeframes.

Pump.fun collected more than $57 million in 30-day revenue compared with $17.6 million for Fomo. Fomo has now surpassed Hyperliquid in 24-hour protocol revenue on 16 August and topped memecoin aggregator Axiom in daily trading volume earlier in August, according to Solana Compass.

Fomo operates as a self-custodial, gasless token-swap and copy-trading app that compresses onboarding to roughly 30 seconds. It has registered more than 625,000 users and processed over $4 billion in cumulative trading volume. Over 68,000 users made their first crypto purchase through Apple Pay, generating approximately $25 million in transaction volume.

The platform expanded into perpetual futures through Hyperliquid in June for non-US users, but swap fees still drive virtually all revenue, with perp fees accounting for under 1.5%. Fomo also said it has paid more than $2 million in referral fees. In June, the company closed a $75 million Series B round led by Index Ventures at a $550 million valuation, with participation from Union Square Ventures and angels including Mark Pincus and Discord CEO Humam Sakhnini.

Pump.fun retains structural advantages. Its PUMP governance token rose roughly 90% to 95% over the 30 days through early September, supported by a programme that routes 50% of protocol revenue into token buybacks. Unverified reports cited by Crypto Briefing suggest Pump.fun has offered top traders and key opinion leaders up to $30,000 per month for exclusivity agreements.

Fomo’s weekly revenue accelerated from $2.64 million in the week ending 8 August to about $7.1 million in the week ending 5 September. Q3 2026 revenue through mid-August was $13.31 million, nearly double the $7.24 million collected in all of Q2. The daily overtake shows Solana’s trading infrastructure is fragmenting from token-launch platforms toward social copy-trading apps.
