CRO Rallies as Robinhood Takes Equity Stakes in Crypto.com and OG.com Prediction Deal

Key takeaways:

  • Robinhood's equity-for-flow deal signals strategic integration into prediction-market infrastructure, not just retail access.
  • CRO's bounce from $0.045 to $0.06 is sentiment-driven; sustained upside requires OG.com volume growth.
  • Long onboarding timeline to 2026 leaves room for regulatory shifts and competitor responses.

Robinhood has expanded its push into prediction markets by signing a multi-year partnership that makes OG.com the infrastructure and clearing provider for its Prediction Markets offering. Under the deal, retail event-contract volume will be routed through OG.com's CFTC-regulated derivatives exchange and clearinghouse architecture, with a phased rollout for eligible U.S. customers beginning on September 8, 2026.

As part of the agreement, Robinhood will receive initial equity stakes in both OG.com and Crypto.com. The stakes are priced in line with Citadel Securities' recent investment in Crypto.com Group, which valued the broader entity at $20 billion. OG.com, the recently spun-off trading platform from Crypto.com, was valued at $5 billion following the separation.

The companies described the arrangement as OG.com's largest business-to-business prediction-markets partnership by transaction volume. In July, Robinhood was reported to be in preliminary talks to add Crypto.com event contracts alongside existing partners Kalshi and ForecastEx. The final deal goes further by adding an equity component, meaning Robinhood is not just buying execution but taking a direct position in the venue whose order flow it supplies.

Kris Marszalek, Founder and CEO of Crypto.com and OG.com, said: "This is the beginning of a strategic partnership between both companies. We're looking forward to making OG.com the most liquid venue globally for innovative derivative instruments, starting with prediction markets and quickly expanding into futures and perpetuals." JB Mackenzie, VP and GM of Futures and Prediction Markets at Robinhood, added that the deal strengthens Robinhood's position in prediction markets and helps meet growing customer demand.

In reaction to the news, Crypto.com ecosystem token CRO rallied from $0.057 to a weekly peak of $0.063 and remained above $0.06. The move marked a recovery from a major decline a month earlier, when Trump Media Group canceled two deals with Crypto.com, including a planned CRO strategic asset accumulation, pushing the token below $0.045.
