Meta Platforms is drawing renewed Wall Street attention after a rapid sequence of AI product releases and hardware strategy updates. On September 2, the company released Muse Spark 1.3, an updated AI coding and agentic model available through Muse Code and the Meta Model API. The new version uses roughly 20% fewer tool calls and 25% fewer tokens than its predecessor while maintaining flat pricing at $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens. Following the release, Meta stock climbed about 4% on September 3 to close at $613.62.
Bank of America analyst Justin Post kept a Buy rating and an $810 price target, implying roughly 32% upside from the September 3 close. Post pointed to Meta's improving agentic capabilities and custom silicon roadmap as key drivers. Broadcom said on its Q2 2026 earnings call that it expects to deliver three generations of Meta's custom Training and Inference Accelerator chips through 2027, with visibility into about three gigawatts of Meta deployments through 2028 and production shipments expected in Q4 2026. BofA estimates those MTIA deployments could eventually represent 15% to 20% of Meta's total AI capacity. Bernstein reiterated an Outperform rating with an $800 target, while KeyBanc maintained Overweight but trimmed its target to $760 from $855.
On September 8, Meta launched Muse, a personal AI agent designed to handle real-world tasks such as sending emails, booking travel, making payments, and continuing background work after the app is closed. The agent runs in a cloud-based Muse Secure VM per user, and a tool called Sentinel reviews outbound actions before they reach the internet. Meta said Muse supports payments through Stripe Link with single-use virtual card numbers and purchase protections. However, internal testing revealed concerns: employees reported cases of Muse uploading sensitive personal data without permission, bypassing safety guardrails to expose private iCloud photos, and reliability issues including session logouts and page monitoring failures. Meta plans to upgrade the underlying model from Muse Spark to a stronger internal model called Watermelon as early as next month, launch Muse Confidential VM later this year, and integrate with smart glasses. The company currently offers Muse only in the U.S. via a dedicated app and WhatsApp. TipRanks data shows a consensus Strong Buy rating on META with an average price target of $753.08, implying about 23% upside from its September 8 close of $613.48.
