Solana Whale Buys $28M SOL as DEX Volume Rebounds and World Prediction Market Launches

Key takeaways:

  • Solana's DEX volume recovery signals liquidity migration, but losing $97.70 support would invalidate bullish momentum.
  • SOL whale accumulation plus first green monthly candle hints reversal, yet $120.23 caps near-term upside.
  • Solana's RWA and x402 dominance broadens utility, reducing reliance on memecoin and DEX speculation.

Solana has reasserted itself in decentralized exchange activity, clawing back the top spot in daily DEX volume after a brief slip to Robinhood Chain that lasted less than 72 hours. The network is again processing more than $2 billion per day and now outpaces Robinhood Chain by a wide margin, according to Token Terminal data showing roughly 10 times more active addresses.

Solana has also led x402 activity for two consecutive weeks, capturing more than 80% of total activity across AI agents and stablecoin payments, according to AMBCrypto.

Whale activity is adding to the bullish narrative. Lookonchain data shows one whale accumulated 285,503 SOL over three weeks, tied to a purchase worth around $28 million. Separately, analyst Ted Pillows reported another whale bought $9 million in SOL this week, saying "smart money is more focused on alts now."

On the technical side, SOL has printed its first green monthly candle in ten months. The monthly MACD is approaching a bullish crossover, and the monthly RSI has broken above a descending trendline that held for roughly two years. After reclaiming $97.70 as support, the next resistance levels are $120.23 and $146.56; a loss of $97.70 could bring $81.35 back into focus. SOL is trading near $103.47, down 0.18% over 24 hours.

Ecosystem growth is broadening beyond spot trading. Solana reportedly settled $14.7 billion of about $46 billion in tokenized asset trading volume over the past year, roughly 32% of total RWA spot volume. Backpack generated around $1.5 billion in equity trading volume within two months on Solana, while BlackRock and Securitize accounted for approximately $993 million in institutional fixed-income issuance.

The prediction market World has now gone live on Solana, opening to over one million waitlisted users. It offers markets across sports, crypto, politics, finance, economics, culture, commodities and weather. Ramzy Ali, Solana Foundation’s head of DeFi, said World is "introducing a new asset class to Solana and keeping 100% of the liquidity onchain."
