Strategy CEO Phong Le reaffirmed that the company will remain a long-term Bitcoin accumulator, with its corporate treasury now holding 840,050 BTC, valued at approximately $55 billion. Speaking as Strategy shares rallied, Le said the company's core objective "is never going to change," while noting that small tactical sales could still occur if they improve the firm's Bitcoin position as traditional finance and DeFi integration deepens.
The renewed commitment coincided with sharp gains in MSTR. The stock closed at $153.92 on September 18, 2026, up 16.39%, after recovering from an intraday low around $137. Its market capitalization surpassed $59.5 billion. Earlier technical readings showed a break above the 20-day EMA near $128, with the next major test near the 200-day EMA at $152.
The rally followed regulatory progress in Washington. On September 16, the House Financial Services Committee approved H.R.8957, the American Reserve Modernization Act, by a 28 to 21 vote. The bill directs the Treasury to establish a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, requiring federally custodied assets to be held for at least 20 years, with proof-of-reserve reporting and treatment for hard-fork assets. Separately, the SEC granted a temporary exemption for tokenized securities trading platforms, potentially boosting digital-asset-linked equities.
