Dogecoin cofounder Billy Markus posted a cryptic message on X on September 19, 2026, writing only ‘We’re So Back?’ during a broad cryptocurrency market recovery. The post immediately sparked speculation across the community, although Markus did not explicitly name Dogecoin, Bitcoin, or any other digital asset.
Dogecoin traded around $0.088 after gaining nearly 4% in 24 hours. Bitcoin rose approximately 5% and Ethereum advanced nearly 6% over the same period. Several altcoins outperformed, with Avalanche, Ethena, Morpho, Filecoin, Injective and VeChain posting gains between 14% and 22%.
The Crypto Fear and Greed Index remained in greed territory, and Glassnode data indicated that altcoin leverage was still below its risk threshold, suggesting room for additional gains without excessive overheating. Bitcoin also reclaimed its True Market Mean, a valuation level associated with a stronger market structure.
The advance occurred despite political and monetary uncertainty. The Senate had failed to move the CLARITY Act forward, while the Federal Reserve raised its benchmark rate by a quarter point to a range of 3.75% to 4%. Traders appeared largely focused on the recovery rather than further rate pressure.
Markus did not confirm the intent behind his post, leaving market participants to interpret it as a signal of renewed confidence in Dogecoin or the wider crypto market.
