Key takeaways:

  • SEI's staking ETF progress could spur institutional demand, but approval delays remain key near-term risk.
  • Bundled October 23 target for AVAX, SUI, NEAR, HYPE signals sector-wide ETF race, amplifying altcoin volatility.
  • SEI's 6.4% pop may already price ETF optimism, so traders should watch for sell-the-news pullback.

REX Shares and Osprey Funds have advanced their proposed staked SEI exchange-traded fund, setting October 23 as the target effective date in updated filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The managers filed a post-effective amendment on September 24 under the ETF Opportunities Trust. The product, named the REX-Osprey SEI + Staking ETF, is designed to provide investors with spot exposure to Sei’s SEI token while using the fund’s SEI assets for staking activities, according to registration documents.

Sei Network reported the update on X, noting that the SEI filing is part of a broader group of crypto ETF products targeting the same October 23 effective date. That group includes proposed funds tied to Avalanche’s AVAX, Sui’s SUI, Near Protocol’s NEAR, and Hyperliquid’s HYPE, among others.

REX Shares and Osprey Funds have previously launched crypto investment products with staking features, including the SOL+ Staking ETF. Following the latest SEI filing development, SEI gained roughly 6.4 percent over 24 hours, trading near $0.07765.
