The week ahead has emerged as a critical test for two standout altcoins, SUI and NEAR, after both delivered some of the strongest gains among major cryptocurrencies. NEAR has climbed from around $2.00 earlier in the summer to $5.44, while SUI has moved from roughly $0.70 to $1.26. The rallies are not just speculative: institutional ETF access and network upgrades are providing fundamental tailwinds.
For NEAR, the primary catalyst is the expected launch of the Bitwise NEAR ETF (NRR) on September 29. Bitwise published its final prospectus on September 24, with custody handled by Coinbase Custody and trading planned on NYSE Arca. The trust will hold and stake NEAR, retaining about 67% of staking rewards, which could create additional demand if inflows are strong. NEAR Intents has also reportedly processed more than $27 billion to $30 billion in volume, while network upgrades introduce quantum-resistant signatures and dynamic resharding. Futures open interest is near $1.56 billion, increasing the risk of sharp moves.
SUI is supported by the 21Shares Spot SUI ETF (TSUI), which has been trading on Nasdaq since February 2026. The network’s upcoming S2 upgrades will introduce gasless stablecoin transfers and confidential transactions, aimed at boosting activity. However, around 13.26 million SUI tokens are scheduled to unlock on September 30, adding supply that the market must absorb.
Technically, SUI is trading at $1.2638 just below resistance at $1.30, with an RSI of 71.20 in overbought territory and a healthy Ultimate Oscillator at 59.57. A breakout could target $1.40, while support sits at $1.20, $1.10, and $1.00. NEAR is near $5.16 to $5.44, approaching major resistance at $6.00. Its RSI has climbed as high as 79.91, while MACD remains strongly positive. Analyst Michaël van de Poppe called the NEAR chart “one of the best” he has seen recently, describing the move as “the first leg upwards of this entire leg.” Key support for NEAR is seen at $5.00 and $4.50, with a potential push toward $6.50 if $6.00 breaks.
Both assets remain in clear uptrends, but overbought conditions and bearish divergence warnings suggest that a short-term cooldown is possible if resistance levels hold.
