Veteran commodity trader Peter Brandt has identified Stellar (XLM) as a speculative long-shot cryptocurrency pick for the next several years. In a social media post, he stated: “If you want to bet on a long shot (next few years), $XLM is a good pick.” The commentary was accompanied by a long-term monthly XLM/USDT chart.
The token has responded with a sharp move higher. XLM was trading near $0.2233, up 6.9% over 24 hours. It fluctuated between $0.2071 and $0.2343, meaning it briefly climbed more than 13% from the session low to the intraday high.
Brandt’s chart stretches back to the 2017–2018 cryptocurrency boom and shows a large descending trendline connecting major historical peaks through the 2021 and subsequent cycles. An upward-sloping support line underneath XLM’s long-term price action creates a multi-year contracting structure. XLM remains below the descending upper boundary, so the latest rise does not establish a breakout. Brandt’s chart also displays a green horizontal marker near $1.17605, though he did not identify it as a formal price target or assign a timetable.
The rally has coincided with Stellar ecosystem developments. On Sept. 22, stablecoin infrastructure provider BVNK announced that it had integrated Stellar into its payments platform. Earlier in September, USDT0 became available on Stellar, expanding access to Tether-linked liquidity; however, the connection to XLM’s price remains indirect. Despite the renewed attention, the long-term pattern remains unresolved without an explicit breakout trigger or target confirmation.
