Key takeaways:

  • Doubling AVA lock requirements may signal a structural supply squeeze, but new-member demand is untested.
  • Travala's buyback matching and 30% lock target could tighten AVA float if adoption sustains.
  • Watch AVA locked supply growth as bullish signal, though profit-taking may follow rapid rallies.

Singapore, October 1, 2026 — The AVA Foundation and Travala announced new standard lock levels for the AVA Smart Program, setting a long-term target of locking 30% of AVA’s circulating supply. The loyalty program has surpassed 170,000 members, up 110% year on year as of August, with approximately 12.1 million AVA locked across the program and AVA+ Rewards, representing around 16% of the token’s circulating supply.

From no earlier than 1 November 2026, new Smart memberships will require double the current AVA lock for every tier. Existing members keep their current requirements while their membership remains active and may switch to the new levels to increase AVA eligible for the AVA Smart Bonus. Bonus rates remain 15% per year for Steel to Platinum and 20% for Diamond, subject to program rules. If existing members move to the new levels, locked AVA would rise to roughly 20 million, about 27% of circulating supply, with further AVA+ Rewards adoption expected to push the figure toward the 30% goal.

Travala reports more than 1.87 million monthly active users and over $113 million in gross revenue in 2025, with more than 17,000 room nights, flights, car rentals and activities booked monthly. Steve Hipwell, AVA Foundation Lead Contributor, said the current lock level demonstrates “genuine real-world utility,” while Travala CEO Juan Otero said the update rewards existing commitment and gives loyal members the option to go further.

The announcement follows the launch of the AVA Permanent Strategic Reserve, under which Travala matches the AVA Foundation’s monthly open-market buybacks. In September, the combined buybacks repurchased 739,762 AVA, and more than 4.8 million AVA has been repurchased through the Foundation’s program to date.
