Key takeaways:

  • Reap Sentry tackles stablecoin card fraud at authorization, crucial for mainstream crypto payment adoption.
  • Priority Pass perks may boost stablecoin card usage, but regulatory hurdles cap crypto card growth.
  • Watch stablecoin card issuance growth as fraud tools and travel rewards drive real-world spending.

Reap, a Hong Kong-based financial technology company focused on stablecoin-enabled infrastructure, has made two significant moves to strengthen its card issuing ecosystem. The company launched Reap Sentry, a managed card fraud and risk service, and separately announced a strategic partnership with Collinson International, owner and operator of Priority Pass, to bring premium airport travel benefits to stablecoin and crypto-linked cardholders.

Reap Sentry is designed to manage a client's end-to-end transaction risk management. It configures fraud rules, screens authorisations in real time, investigates alerts, processes chargebacks, and reports confirmed fraud to Visa. According to Reap, clients do not need to build or license additional fraud monitoring tools or hire dedicated fraud teams. The service is built on technology from Reap's issuing portfolio, informed by fraud patterns observed across millions of cards issued over eight years. Reap cited The Nilson Report data showing global payment card fraud losses reached USD 33.41 billion in 2024 against card volume of USD 51.920 trillion. The company emphasised that fraud must be stopped at the point of authorisation, where decisions are made in milliseconds. Reap Sentry is available via a single Reap API to new and existing clients.

The partnership with Collinson International extends Reap's card offerings into lifestyle and travel benefits. Eligible Reap cardholders can access Priority Pass's global network of more than 1,900 airport lounges and travel experiences across 865 airports in 143 countries, including spas, sleep pods, dining, and other premium services. Reap said the collaboration enables its clients in the digital-assets landscape, including crypto exchanges, Web3 neobanks, private banks, and asset managers, to offer meaningful travel rewards. Collinson International noted that its research found access to airport lounges is ranked as the most desirable travel benefit, with 92% of respondents in Asia Pacific agreeing that travel rewards encourage card use. The partnership aims to bring the same experiential value long associated with traditional premium cards to stablecoin-linked payment cards.
