CMC Funded has confirmed Match-Trader as the technology platform behind its newly launched simulated proprietary trading business, formalizing an agreement that was already visible through the programme’s technical infrastructure before its October 1 debut.
Match-Trade Technologies announced the deal on Tuesday, stating Match-Trader will provide the trading environment and infrastructure for challenge configuration, account monitoring and performance analytics. CMC Funded launched publicly five days earlier as a separate operation associated with London-listed CMC Markets, an FTSE 250 multi-asset financial services group.
The selection is notable because CMC Markets has spent decades developing proprietary trading technology. Its FY2026 reporting describes technology and platform infrastructure as central to the group’s strategy, yet the new prop operation is using specialist third-party technology rather than adapting CMC’s existing retail brokerage stack for the challenge model. CMC Funded takes technology, market expertise and trader insight from CMC Markets, but is operated separately and is not a regulated product or service provided by CMC Markets.
CMC Funded launched with Classic and Direct evaluation structures covering simulated accounts from $10,000 to $100,000. Classic starts at $99 for a $10,000 account and reaches $499 for $100,000, with an 8% first-stage target, a 5% second-stage target, a 5% daily loss limit and a 10% maximum loss threshold. Direct costs between $149 and $549 and uses a single 10% target with tighter 4% daily and 6% overall loss limits. Both advertise an 80% share of simulated profits at the reward stage, with an optional increase to 90%.
Benjamin Charbonneau, CFA, Managing Director and Head of CMC Funded, said: “Match-Trader was a deliberate choice for our initial offering. We tested the platform extensively against our requirements for security, performance and functionality. The depth of prop trading experience behind the platform, combined with its integration capabilities, gave us the foundation to build the trading experience we wanted.”
The legal structure remains separate: the contractual operator is Dubai-based True North Tech L.L.C-FZ, responsible for programme fees, participant accounts, rewards and refunds. True North Tech is not owned or controlled by CMC Markets plc, CMC Markets Singapore or another CMC group entity, and CMC Funded does not provide participants with live brokerage accounts or company capital to trade. All trading remains simulated, including after a participant passes an evaluation.
The partnership gives Match-Trade a high-profile reference client while allowing CMC to enter the challenge market without repurposing its core brokerage platform. The longer-term test is whether CMC Funded develops into a meaningful new distribution and trader-identification channel.
