Bitcoin could be on the verge of a new all-time high within the next 90 days, according to analyst Timothy Peterson, but the path may first include a short-term pullback toward the mid-$70,000s. Peterson highlighted historical cycles in which Bitcoin recovered from 50% below its ATH to 30% below its peak—every prior instance led to a new record, with a median of just 24 days and a maximum of 75 days.
The analyst identified $88,000 as the critical breakout threshold; a move above that level later in October would signal an imminent new record. If the current correction deepens, Peterson pointed to $77,000 as a possible bottom.
Separately, CryptoQuant analyzed Bitcoin bull-market corrections and found the average pullback across the last five cycles is 14.39%. Applied to Bitcoin's recent peak of $87,027 on October 5, that would imply a level near $74,500. The firm said the $80,000 area may be a gradual accumulation zone, with more aggressive buying potential in the $74,000–$75,000 range if selling pressure continues.
