Solana regained the number one position in daily tokenized equities trading volume during the early hours of October 12, surpassing all other blockchain networks combined, according to commentary highlighted by crypto market observer @SolanaFloor. The milestone came as the broader tokenized equities market extended its rapid expansion toward a reported valuation of $3.9 billion.
Data from Token Terminal cited on October 6 placed the market at a record $3.8 billion, with BNB Chain, Ethereum and Solana collectively accounting for roughly 74% of the total. BNB Chain led with approximately $1.2 billion in tokenized stocks and exchange-traded funds, followed by Ethereum at $841.4 million and Solana at $753.4 million. The combined $2.79 billion represented about 73.5% of the reported market. January estimates had tokenized equities valued at only about $719 million, implying more than fivefold growth in under a year.
BNB Chain's rise marks a notable shift from the start of 2026, when Ethereum held about 48% of the market, Solana held 31%, and BNB Chain held around 13%. By early October, BNB Chain became the first network to surpass $1 billion in tokenized stocks and ETFs. Its expansion has been supported by products including Binance's bStocks and tokenized securities from Ondo Global Markets. The network reported supporting more than 709 tokenized stocks and ETFs by late June, with cumulative trading volume above $5 billion.
Institutional activity is accelerating. On October 8, Securitize launched tokenized versions of 12 U.S. equities on Solana, including Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft and Tesla, with products backed by underlying shares and designed to preserve economic and shareholder rights for eligible investors. Meanwhile, OKXICE, a joint venture involving OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, has filed with U.S. regulators to establish a tokenized securities trading platform. These moves could broaden access to blockchain-based equities beyond existing crypto trading venues.
Market-size estimates remain sensitive to methodology. RWA.xyz reported about $3.25 billion in distributed tokenized-stock value in early October, while another analytics dashboard recorded $3.57 billion on October 11. Differences can stem from asset coverage, ETF inclusion, duplicate representations across networks and valuation dates. Tokenized equities also vary legally: some represent securities backed by underlying shares, while others provide contractual or derivative exposure without identical shareholder rights.
The market remains small compared with conventional global equity markets, but its significance lies in the potential to improve settlement efficiency, extend trading availability and connect securities to programmable financial infrastructure. For Solana, the renewed number one position in daily tokenized equities trading highlights the network's growing appeal to both retail and institutional traders, though sustaining the momentum will depend on liquidity, regulatory developments and continued institutional adoption.
