Key takeaways:

  • STRK's search-driven rally looks speculative; watch if new wallets convert to sustained usage.
  • CAP and GRASS wallet growth hint speculative rotation into lesser-known altcoins with elevated risk.
  • Bonk, Frax, Aave wallet spikes suggest broadening altcoin interest; profit-taking risk rises after sharp moves.

Cryptocurrency analytics platform Santiment released its weekly ranking of altcoin network growth, examining projects with a market capitalization above $100 million. The metric tracks newly created wallet addresses, offering a view of shifting investor interest and network usage.

Cap (CAP) led the list with an 800% increase in new wallets over the past seven days. Grass (GRASS) followed with 698.9% growth, while Starknet (STRK) recorded 468.78% growth. Other notable names included Fartcoin at 433.95%, Frax on the Optimism network at 400%, Bonk at 397.91%, Aave on Polygon at 346.15%, Rain at 314.75%, and Usual USD at 300%.

Starknet also topped CoinGecko's list of the most-searched altcoins over a three-hour window, ahead of Quantus and Pudgy Penguins. According to CoinGecko, Starknet gained 54.2% in 24 hours and 102.8% over seven days, which likely drove the increase in user searches. Celestia and Aerodrome Finance also drew attention, posting 24-hour gains of 21.5% and 15.8% respectively.

The CoinGecko ranking reflects user search interest rather than trading volume or market capitalization, and the platform stressed that trending searches are not investment signals. Still, the combination of sharp price moves and rising new wallet creation suggests growing attention around several altcoins, particularly Starknet.
