BNB is testing a make-or-break support band between $726 and $732 after falling about 4.5% over the past week. On Wednesday, October 14, it traded near $733, down 1.5% on the day, with sellers capping every bounce since the token peaked near $810 on October 5. A descending triangle on the 4-hour chart is nearing its apex around October 17, leaving little room for further compression. A decisive close below $726 would confirm the breakdown and project a move toward roughly $660, while a close above the falling trendline and $750 would invalidate the bearish setup.
The daily chart adds pressure: BNB has completed a double top after failing twice near $810, first on September 23 and again on October 5. The break below the $755 neckline projects a move toward roughly $700. BNB is sitting on its 50-day EMA at $734, and the MACD line has slipped below zero for the first time since early August. Still, RSI bullish divergence near support suggests selling pressure may be weakening, keeping a bear trap scenario possible. Key Fibonacci support sits near $706 and the 200-day EMA near $686.
The technical weakness contrasts with on-chain activity. CryptoRank reported that tokens launched on BNB Chain hold about $6.4 billion in combined market value, or 51% of all new token value created in 2026. BNB Chain leads Ethereum's $2.8 billion and Solana's $1 billion, but low fees and small circulating supplies have limited the translation of that activity into BNB buying pressure.
NEAR retreated to roughly $4.83 on October 14, down about 4% on the day after briefly reaching $5.18. It is now about 19% below its 2026 peak near $6 and approaching the rising lower boundary of an ascending channel near $4.80. The decline came during a broader crypto pullback after US inflation rose to a higher-than-expected 3.7%, which may reduce expectations for Federal Reserve rate cuts and keep pressure on risk assets. Zcash also fell about 4.4%, approaching Fibonacci support and reflecting wider market pressure. NEAR's first recovery hurdle is the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement near $4.95. A sustained channel break would put the 38.2% retracement near $4.30 back in view, with the 50% level near $3.70 further below.
