Chainlink has officially activated its Data Feeds and Data Streams oracle infrastructure on the Stellar mainnet, directly connecting Stellar’s roughly $3.54 billion tokenized real-world asset ecosystem to external market data. The Stellar Development Foundation is covering the operating costs of the oracles through the Chainlink Scale program, removing a major cost barrier for developers.
Before the integration, Stellar’s Soroban smart contracts were isolated from off-chain pricing information. That left tokenized instruments such as Ondo Finance products backed by US government bonds, Franklin Templeton’s money market fund, and Spiko’s digitized European treasury and interbank swap products unable to support automated lending, collateralization, or liquidations based on real-time valuations.
With low-latency Chainlink data now available, developers can build DeFi applications for lending, trading, stablecoins, tokenized equities, prediction markets, and perpetual futures. Stellar currently ranks fourth among blockchains by RWA volume, behind Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana, according to RWA.xyz, and recent data shows RWA transfer volume on Stellar grew about 25% over the past month while stablecoin capitalization rose roughly 10%.
The integration is a commercial milestone for both networks: Chainlink extends its oracle services into a regulated RWA-heavy environment, while Stellar gains infrastructure to turn passive tokenized reserves into active DeFi capital.
