CoinShares has commercially launched its OnChain Strategies business through Safe Labs and Railnet, giving eligible enterprise Safe users direct access to managed stablecoin strategies from their existing smart-account wallets.
The October 14 deployment marks the first commercial rollout of the Nasdaq-listed asset manager’s on-chain investment platform. It follows a partnership framework announced in March 2026 with Railnet owner Kiln, which outlined a managed yield strategy combining DeFi lending, institutional secured lending, tokenised bond funds and ETFs, and delta-neutral basis trades.
Safe supplies the enterprise smart-account environment; CoinShares designs the strategy, sets risk parameters and earns fees on delegated assets; Railnet provides the on-chain infrastructure coordinating settlement and workflow. CoinShares states it does not custody client assets or invest its own balance sheet in the program.
According to CoinShares, Safe smart accounts hold more than $60 billion in self-custodied digital assets across over 63 million accounts, with roughly $7.5 billion in stablecoins — about 2.5% of an estimated $300 billion global stablecoin market. Those platform-wide figures represent a potential distribution surface, not capital already invested in the strategies.
Chief Executive Jean-Marie Mognetti described the initiative as adding a second distribution engine to CoinShares' business. The launch tests whether the wallet can become the front door to institutional asset management, bypassing brokers, exchanges and traditional fund platforms.
CoinShares cautions that wallet control is not equivalent to instant liquidity. Allocated capital may face redemption windows, counterparty obligations, smart-contract conditions and market liquidity risks. The company has not disclosed initial assets under management, management-fee rates, target yields or confirmed portfolio composition for the Safe offering.
