Pixagram to Cover Network Fees for 250 New Users Daily Through 2026

Key takeaways:

  • Subsidizing 250 daily PIXA accounts may drive adoption, but token demand must outpace new issuance.
  • On-chain art storage and PXS index may differentiate Pixa, but liquidity remains unproven.
  • Watch whether Proof-of-Brain rewards attract curators or inflate PIXA supply without sustainable demand.

Panama City, Panama — Pixagram has announced that it will cover the 20 PIXA network fee for up to 250 new members daily through the end of 2026. The initiative is designed to remove onboarding costs for creators joining the standalone Layer-1 Pixa blockchain, where posts, votes, and comments are recorded as signed on-chain transactions without ads or an initial cryptocurrency purchase.

Free @username and wallet creation: Normally, opening a Pixa chain account costs around 20 PIXA. Under the new program, eligible users can claim a permanent @username at Pixagram.com. Each @username acts as an on-chain wallet address, replacing random character strings with a recognizable handle, while one-time phone verification helps limit bot abuse.

Creator-focused design and NFT permanence: Pixagram describes itself as an anti-hierarchy platform for creators, positioned alongside Hive and Mastodon. Unlike many NFT platforms where the token is on-chain but artwork lives on cloud servers or IPFS, Pixagram stores every artwork directly on-chain inside the post as a lossless image. Compact pixel art can render up to 4K with options including painting, CRT filter, hexagonal shapes, or square pixels. Direct on-chain art sales are expected to launch in 2027.

Rewards and governance: The network uses Proof-of-Brain rather than Proof-of-Work. 70% of newly issued PIXA is allocated to community-voted content, with 60% distributed to authors and 40% to curators after seven days. Participants can receive Pixa Power for voting weight and governance, while Pixa Supra (PXS) is referenced by an oracle to an agnostic purchasing power index without a fixed dollar value.

Built on the Hive codebase with Steem lineage, the Pixa chain started from a clean genesis block with no airdrop and produces a block every three seconds. The platform also uses PAPH-X, an open-source perceptual fingerprint for pixel art, and the Search V4 engine to index content. Co-founder Matias Affolter said, 'The old internet wants you trapped in feed fog, renting reach from gatekeepers who track every click. Today information is king, and Pixagram operates outside that hierarchy.' Co-founder Mathiew Estepho added, 'We’re covering the network fee for 250 new accounts a day so any creator can step into build mode at zero cost.'

Pixagram is developed by Pixagram AG in Zug, Switzerland, and operated by Pixa Rex S.A. in Panama City, Panama.
