Injective (INJ) rallied nearly 30% over 24 hours on October 16, trading around $9.25 to $9.35 and becoming the best performer among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market cap.
The advance followed two main catalysts. First, Gulf Labs, a subsidiary of Thailand's GULF Group with about $27 billion market capitalization, began operating an institutional validator on Injective. Announced October 8, the partnership covers tokenization, stablecoins, institutional financial services, and digital infrastructure, while GULF's telecom and energy operations provide broad commercial reach. Second, Injective CEO Eric Chen met with officials from the White House, SEC, and CFTC on Wednesday to discuss tokenization and onchain finance within US regulatory frameworks. Injective highlighted its SEC-registered transfer agent status, CFTC-regulated INJ futures, and a real-world asset mint initiative.
Market data reinforced bullish momentum. Santiment showed INJ social dominance at 1.1%, exchange supply fell from 1.26 million INJ on August 12 to 872,500 INJ by Thursday, and non-exchange wallet holdings rose from 94.99 million to 95.46 million tokens. Daily technicals remained broadly bullish: INJ traded above its Ichimoku Cloud and 50-day EMA near $6.94, while the RSI near 66 suggested room before overbought territory. The 4-hour CCI above 200, however, indicated the rally may need consolidation.
Analysts see $8.21 as initial breakout support and $10.09 as near-term resistance; a sustained push could open the October 10 high near $12.44. In addition, Canary Capital's amended S-1 filing for a proposed staked INJ ETF remains part of the institutional narrative, with BitGo as custodian and U.S. Bancorp Fund Services handling administration. A pullback would put support near $8.50 and then the 50-day EMA around $6.94 in focus.
