Kintsu has officially opened a private beta on the Canton Network, inviting selected borrowers, lenders and vault managers to test early access to lending, collateralized borrowing and staking. The beta reportedly went live around October 8–9, 2026, marking a significant step beyond the protocol’s original liquid staking business toward credit infrastructure for tokenized assets.
The initial testnet experience focuses on supplying USDC, borrowing against Canton Coin (CC) collateral, and submitting CC staking requests. Participants can access dollar-denominated liquidity without immediately selling their CC holdings, while lenders can review supply rates before depositing funds. Kintsu uses variable interest rates, meaning borrowing costs and lender returns may shift with market conditions. However, the project has not disclosed finalized staking yields, collateral requirements, or public lending rates.
Several features remain listed as forthcoming rather than fully operational, including managed vaults curated by professional allocators and broader lending markets. The current interface identifies Markets and Vaults as upcoming products. The rollout builds on earlier development: in July 2026, Kintsu introduced an initial testnet implementation with isolated lending markets and interest accrual mechanisms, and in August 2026 it integrated Cenote’s Canton-focused credit platform into Kintsu Capital Markets.
Canton Network, developed by Digital Asset, is designed for institutional financial transactions and offers configurable transaction privacy. Unlike conventional public blockchains, Canton allows financial applications to restrict access to sensitive transaction details, which may appeal to institutional borrowers managing confidential positions. Kintsu’s planned lending markets could eventually allow holders of supported tokenized assets to obtain liquidity without selling underlying positions. Still, the private beta does not establish commercial-scale institutional lending, and Kintsu has not published verified lending volumes, total value locked, or adoption figures for its Canton deployment.
