Postquant Labs has unveiled the Quip Virtual Machine (QVM) on its Aglais testnet, introducing a single programming layer that combines quantum and classical hardware. The architecture draws inspiration from the Ethereum Virtual Machine and establishes a gas pricing model calculated from qubit usage, execution time, and entanglement.
The company also introduced QuipSwap, a settlement layer built to process quantum-resistant payments. The combined stack aims to unify fragmented quantum computing environments such as those operated by IBM and Microsoft, allowing developers to deploy quantum smart contracts with transparent, predictable fees.
During portfolio optimization benchmarks against traditional computers, QVM quantum algorithms matched or exceeded classical performance in every execution, according to Postquant Labs. The project is currently in a validation phase with academic and industrial institutions, while the Aglais network offers free compute credits. The next phase will focus on mainnet infrastructure expansion and strengthening quantum resistance within Web3 standards.
