Dogecoin community contributor Mishaboar has called on commercial ventures building within the DOGE ecosystem to strengthen the network by directly supporting Dogecoin Core, independent developers, and rigorous code review processes. In a detailed post on X, Mishaboar argued that businesses benefiting from Dogecoin should fund underlying infrastructure rather than focus exclusively on commercial products.
Mishaboar identified Dogecoin Core development as the top priority, saying companies should help keep the software secure, updated, and subject to review by experienced engineers. He emphasized that well-argued, thoroughly researched proposals are essential, and added that rigorous code review is “truly crucial now more than ever.”
Beyond core development, Mishaboar encouraged support for alternative node implementations and open-source projects from small independent developers, as well as transparent, data-backed research into ways to improve Dogecoin. He also urged ventures to build technically sound commercial products with clearly stated business models and risk disclosures, telling them to care about their users.
The remarks follow the October 21, 2026, announcement of Dogecoin Labs, formed in partnership with the Dogecoin Foundation. The independent organization consolidates product teams, technology, applications, and intellectual property behind the Dogecoin ecosystem. Dogecoin Labs will own and operate MyDoge, DogeOS, and Such App, following the recent launches of the DogeOS public testnet and MyDoge V3. DogeOS provides infrastructure for developers to build applications, while MyDoge connects those applications with millions of Dogecoin holders.
