BNB is trading near $696–$701 on October 30, 2026, after a sharp decline triggered by a major security breach at Binance. The exchange-linked token fell as much as 10.51% toward $680 and remains about 6.4% to 7.8% below pre-incident levels, leaving key support zones in focus.
Binance estimated that the October 29 breach affected roughly $6.3 billion in assets. Its preliminary investigation identified a potentially compromised engineer’s laptop, although the exchange said there was no evidence that wallet private keys were leaked. Binance has since reserved more than $6.34 billion and said it will cover affected customer losses using company resources and its Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU), while also working to freeze compromised assets and strengthen security procedures.
Technical indicators suggest sellers still have short-term control. The daily chart shows $674.60 as the decisive lower boundary after the breakdown, below the 200-day exponential moving average at $692.43. The weekly chart places Fibonacci support at $698.95, while resistance begins near $772.56. The Relative Strength Index has approached the oversold area near 30, and MACD momentum remains negative. A confirmed drop below $680 could open the path toward the $650–$655 region, with an extended bearish scenario targeting $500. On the upside, BNB needs to recover $700 and then challenge resistance between $718 and $725; a stronger move above $740–$750 would signal that buyers are regaining control.
Despite the pressure, BNB retains utility across the BNB Chain ecosystem for transactions, staking, and other operations. However, uncertainty surrounding Binance is likely to keep sentiment cautious until investors see more evidence that the exchange’s security response is effective.
