Ripple has received final approval from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency to operate Ripple National Trust Bank, completing a review process that began with conditional approval in December 2025.
The OCC decision, published on October 26, authorizes the bank to manage segregated reserves backing Ripple USD (RLUSD), serve as a collateral trustee for those reserves, and provide fiduciary digital asset custody services for institutional clients. The federal framework gives Ripple a regulated structure for its stablecoin reserve operations and custody business.
The approval marks a new stage in Ripple's banking plans, but the announcement does not include updated RLUSD reserve totals or circulation figures, and it does not offer projections for client adoption. It also does not state that XRP has been approved as a banking product or that demand for the token will increase.
Some market participants reacted positively, with the account X Finance Bull calling the decision "big news for Ripple and XRP" and focusing on reserve management and institutional custody under federal oversight.
For XRP holders, the development is notable as a regulatory milestone for Ripple, but any direct impact on token demand or price would require separate evidence beyond the trust bank approval.
