Chainlink has broadened its real-world asset data capabilities and landed two notable adoption announcements, with lending protocol Aave and South Korean securities firm Hanwha Investment & Securities both integrating its infrastructure.
On October 29, Chainlink introduced a 24/7 data service supplying reference prices for equities, commodities and other tokenized real-world assets beyond conventional exchange hours. The service extends a previous 24/5 equity-data product into weekends and holidays. Chainlink said off-hours references combine information from several perpetual-futures venues and include stale-data filtering and outlier controls rather than treating a closed stock exchange as if it were still publishing live prices.
Aave was identified as the launch partner for using the feeds to value eligible collateral. Hanwha Investment & Securities separately announced the same day that it would adopt Chainlink data standards and the Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol, or CCIP, for a global real-world asset tokenization platform, and the two firms formed a working group focused on collateral and institutional use cases.
The announcements highlight growing institutional interest in representing equities and other assets on-chain, but the reports caution that oracle feeds are not guarantees of redeemable cash-market prices. Off-hours derivative references can diverge from the next opening auction, so protocols need conservative collateral factors, circuit breakers and governance around unusual market conditions. Legal rights, custody, settlement and consistent ownership records remain essential before tokenized instruments achieve broad utility.
For investors, the key distinction is between infrastructure announcements and realized economic activity. Revenue may accrue to Chainlink or other service providers without creating a one-for-one benefit for LINK holders; sustainable adoption depends on live issuance, collateral transactions and transparent reporting rather than stated targets.
