OKXICE TSV has disclosed that 50 public companies have submitted Notices of Issuer Objection to its planned tokenized U.S. stock venue, including Nvidia, Nike, Costco, Microsoft, Alphabet and JPMorgan. The objections, published in the venue’s October 30 public notice, show broad issuer resistance to third-party tokenized equities and bring the total blocked symbols to 44 of the original 63 proposed on October 4.
The difference between 50 objectors and 44 blocked symbols exists because seven objectors, including Wells Fargo and Arm Holdings, were never on the roster, and Alphabet’s single filing covers both of its share classes. Five of the eight previously showcased launch names—Nvidia, Microsoft, Alphabet, JPMorgan and Walmart—have now objected, while Apple, Amazon and Tesla have not. Crypto-linked issuers such as Coinbase, Circle and Robinhood also remain open, though this does not imply endorsement because their 30-day response windows may still be running.
Under the SEC’s Innovation Exemption issued on September 17 and Release No. 34-106402, a venue must give each issuer written notice, and trading cannot begin until 30 calendar days after receipt. A written objection inside that window removes the stock from the launch list. OKXICE would operate permissioned Uniswap v4 pools on X Layer, OKX’s blockchain network, with tokens paired against USDT, USDC and USDG and backed one-for-one by shares held at an SEC-registered broker-dealer. The SEC has acknowledged concerns about weekend pricing gaps and shareholder record accuracy. Applied Optoelectronics said it could not predict the effect on its stock price, liquidity and volatility, and that investors might assume endorsement. Nasdaq has criticized the model’s potential 10-minute trade data delays.
Although November 3 is the earliest possible start date, OKXICE has not announced a live trading date, and objections may continue to arrive because each issuer’s window starts when it receives its letter. SIFMA has asked the SEC to allow standing opt-outs and objections at any time, while offshore products such as Kraken’s xStocks remain outside the SEC veto. TSV LLC avoids the objection process by listing only shares that issuers tokenize themselves.
