Polygon Launches Agglayer Breakout Program, Promises Up to 15% Airdrop Rewards for POL Stakers
24.04.2025 14:22
Polygon has launched its Agglayer Breakout Program to support projects building on its Agglayer and proof-of-stake ecosystems. The program combines incubation, community-focused funding, and hands-on support from Polygon Labs to help projects develop and scale. Graduated projects like Privado ID have already completed the program and are set to airdrop 5% of their native token supply to POL stakers. Upcoming cohorts, including Miden and a new DeFi chain currently in stealth mode, plan to distribute 10% and 15% of their tokens, respectively, via similar airdrop mechanisms. The initiative leverages zero-knowledge proofs to enhance user privacy and ensure secure transactions. Airdrop eligibility snapshots will begin next week with staking available as of Wednesday, aiming to integrate more chains into the growing Agglayer network and boost the utility of the POL token.
The news presents a positive impact on POL’s price. The innovative program, by promising substantial airdrops from successful projects (between 5% and 15% of native tokens), directly increases the token’s utility and demand. The involvement of credible teams and the backing of Polygon Labs add institutional credibility. Short-term, anticipation of upcoming snapshot events may drive immediate buyer interest and staking activity. In the long-term, sustained ecosystem growth and the integration of multiple chains are likely to reinforce POL’s market strength, mirroring historical positive responses to similar incentive-driven initiatives.
