Emmy-winning actress Julia Garner is reportedly in discussions to play Caroline Ellison in Netflix’s dramatization of the FTX cryptocurrency exchange collapse. The limited series, set for eight episodes, will focus on the rise and fall of FTX through the personal and professional relationship between Ellison, the former CEO of Alameda Research, and FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried.
Filming is expected to commence this summer, with Oscar-winner Graham Moore, known for 'The Imitation Game', as lead writer and co-showrunner. Jacqueline Hoyt will co-showrun and executive produce, alongside Garner and other producers, including Barack and Michelle Obama. The story delves into the dramatic dismantling of FTX, highlighting events that led to Bankman-Fried’s 25-year prison sentence and Ellison’s guilty plea and 24-month sentence. The production aims to capture the human drama behind one of the largest financial scandals in cryptocurrency history.
