Doodles has announced the launch of its utility token, DOOD, on the Solana blockchain on May 9, 2025. This move signifies Doodles' transition from a pure NFT project to a broader Web3 ecosystem. The DOOD token will facilitate avatar customization, community governance through voting, and access to exclusive content across various Doodles platforms.
The distribution plan for DOOD involves allocations for existing NFT holders, new users, and funds dedicated to ecosystem growth, with a total supply of 10 billion tokens. The token's debut is further underscored by Binance's announcement to list DOOD on its futures trading platform (DOODUSDT) with up to 50x leverage and capped funding rates, reflecting strong market anticipation and liquidity.
In addition, Doodles recently faced community backlash after co-founder Jordan Castro stated that it is “no longer an NFT project,” prompting a clarification reaffirming the team’s continued commitment to NFTs. Doodles is also building real-world partnerships, such as an exclusive digital apparel collection with Adidas and Pharrell Williams and an interactive event with Camp, focusing on integrating the Doodles universe into both virtual and offline experiences.
