RISE Chain, an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain, has secured $8 million in total funding, including a recent $4 million investment from Galaxy Ventures, to develop a high-speed, decentralized ecosystem for real-time decentralized applications (dApps).

RISE aims to overcome traditional blockchain limitations by delivering transaction latencies as low as 5 milliseconds and targeting throughput exceeding 100,000 transactions per second (TPS). The platform’s breakthrough technology, called "Shreds," divides transactions into smaller units allowing near-instant confirmations without sacrificing decentralization or security.

Earlier this month, RISE launched a public testnet that processed more than 2 billion total transactions and demonstrated the ability to handle over 50,000 transactions in a single one-second block. This performance sets a new benchmark for scalability and speed suitable for advanced finance applications like order book strategies, options trading, high-frequency trading, and market making.

RISE’s design also includes upcoming features like "Based Sequencing," which allows Ethereum validators to order RISE transactions to ensure smooth interoperability and liquidity synchronization between Ethereum and Layer 2 chains without creating centralization risks.

The funding will accelerate mainnet development, improve developer tools, and expand ecosystem support. Seed investors include notable industry figures such as Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and AAVE founder Stani Kulechov, underscoring strong market confidence in RISE’s approach to the blockchain scalability trilemma.

RISE emphasizes a decentralization-first approach by operating on widely accessible hardware and avoiding centralized sequencers that pose censorship and failure risks. Future upgrades, including "Secured Shreds," will economically secure pre-confirmations by Ethereum validators to enhance security further while maintaining ultra-low latency.

Overall, RISE positions itself as a next-generation Ethereum Layer 2 project, offering a new standard of "Infinite Speed" performance to unlock real-time DeFi and other high-throughput decentralized applications.
