Fairshake Super PAC Amasses $141M for Pro-Crypto Midterm Election Push

Fairshake, a pro-cryptocurrency Super Political Action Committee (PAC), has secured $141 million to influence the 2026 U.S. midterm elections, with major contributions from industry giants Coinbase, Ripple, and Andreessen Horowitz (a16z). This funding aims to elect lawmakers supportive of crypto-friendly policies during a pivotal regulatory moment in Congress.

The announcement coincides with 'Crypto Week,' where the House is reviewing three critical bills: the GENIUS Act (focused on digital asset innovation), CLARITY Act (addressing regulatory jurisdiction), and Anti-CBDC legislation. Procedural votes began July 15, 2025, accelerating the timeline for potential regulatory changes.

Josh Vlasto, Fairshake spokesperson, emphasized: "We are building an aggressive, targeted strategy to ensure pro-crypto voices are heard in key races nationwide." Coinbase alone contributed $100 million to the PAC, which spent $139 million in 2024 to elect 53 crypto-friendly lawmakers—roughly 10% of Congress.

Despite a fundraising slowdown (from $103M in November 2024 to $116M in January 2025), the PAC's war chest positions it as a top campaign finance force. Its strategy involves independent advertising without direct candidate coordination, leveraging both support for allies and financial threats to opponents.
