TRON Founder Justin Sun Set for Blue Origin Spaceflight After $28M Charity Bid

Justin Sun, founder of the TRON blockchain, will join Blue Origin's NS-34 suborbital mission as part of a six-person crew, becoming the second crypto industry figure to travel to space. Blue Origin confirmed Sun's participation on July 21, 2025, revealing he secured his seat through a $28 million charity auction win in 2021, with proceeds benefiting STEM education via the Club for the Future foundation.

The mission—New Shepard's 34th flight and 14th carrying humans—will launch from West Texas, crossing the Kármán line at 100 kilometers altitude. Passengers will experience 10 minutes of weightlessness during the flight. Sun joins crewmates Arvi Bahal, Gökhan Erdem, meteorologist Deborah Martorell, Lionel Pitchford, and repeat flyer J.D. Russell. While Chun Wang (Bitcoin mining pool co-founder) pioneered crypto space travel via SpaceX earlier in 2025, Sun marks Blue Origin's first crypto leader passenger.

Originally scheduled earlier, the flight was delayed nearly three years. A livestream will broadcast the launch, though Blue Origin has not finalized the date.
