FTX Sets August 15 Deadline for $1.9B Creditor Payouts Starting September 30

The FTX Recovery Trust announced on July 23 that August 15, 2025, will serve as the record date for its next creditor distribution round, with payments expected to commence around September 30. This distribution applies to holders of allowed Class 5 Customer Entitlement Claims, Class 6 General Unsecured Claims, and qualified Convenience Claims approved after previous cutoffs.

Court approval enabled FTX to reduce its disputed claims reserve by $1.9 billion, lowering it from $6.5 billion to $4.6 billion. This freed capital will fund the upcoming distributions, which BitGo, Kraken, and Payoneer will administer. Creditors must complete KYC verification, submit tax forms, and onboard with a distribution partner by the deadline to receive funds.

Claim transfers must be processed and reflected in the official register by August 15, following a mandatory 21-day objection period. FTX emphasized that post-transfer account support falls solely to the service providers. This follows May's $5 billion payout to creditors with claims under $50,000, which included 9% annual interest accrued since FTX's November 2022 bankruptcy filing.
