The American Innovation Project (AIP), a new tax-exempt nonprofit organization, has launched with backing from major cryptocurrency firms including Coinbase, Kraken, Paradigm, Digital Currency Group, Uniswap Labs, and the Solana Policy Institute. Registered as a 501(c)(3) entity, AIP aims to educate U.S. policymakers about decentralized technologies like cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence through workshops and direct engagement.

The initiative seeks to bridge knowledge gaps in Washington D.C. by connecting lawmakers with industry experts and academics. Julie Stitzel, DCG's Senior VP of Policy and an AIP board member, emphasized the organization's strictly educational, nonpartisan mandate, noting it will not engage in substantial legislative lobbying as required by its tax-exempt status.

The inaugural event occurred during an invite-only crypto policy summit in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, attended by key figures including Senator Cynthia Lummis and Federal Reserve Vice Chair Michelle Bowman. Long-term, AIP envisions fostering regulatory frameworks that balance innovation with consumer protection while maintaining U.S. competitiveness in emerging technologies.
