This move, scheduled for implementation, promises to enhance transaction speeds by 15 times, improve security, and integrate Ronin into the broader Superchain ecosystem, which includes platforms like Base and Uniswap.
Originally launched as an Ethereum sidechain to handle Axie Infinity's growing user base, Ronin faced challenges with scalability and efficiency. The shift to Layer 2 aims to resolve these issues by leveraging the OP Stack, which maintains Ethereum's security while reducing latency and fees. Additionally, Ronin is allocating $5 to $7 million in milestone-based grants to incentivize developers to build on the upgraded network, ensuring a vibrant ecosystem from the outset.
