Cardano Foundation Advances Global Adoption with Key Milestones in Web3, RWA, and Governance

The Cardano Foundation has provided a comprehensive update on its global adoption roadmap for 2025–2026, showcasing steady progress across multiple strategic areas, including education, real-world assets (RWA), Web3 integrations, decentralized finance (DeFi), and governance decentralization.

In education, the Binance and Cardano academy has officially launched, with over 32,000 users completing courses to date, and new video content and resources have been introduced to promote blockchain literacy and Cardano use cases.

For real-world assets, Cardano has aligned with x402 sponsors and is finalizing standards to enhance interoperability, transparency, and the practical adoption of tokenized RWAs on the blockchain.

In Web3, the strategy and target integrations for 2026 are now aligned, paving the way for enterprise and ecosystem collaborations, with recruitment underway for technical and ecosystem roles to support scalable integrations.

Decentralized finance initiatives have seen vendor selection completed, and agreements are in place, with plans to provide an eight-figure ADA liquidity for Cardano stablecoin projects to bolster DeFi ecosystems.

Governance decentralization has advanced with the completion of the methodology and DRep list, with delegation set to be introduced by the end of 2025. This includes delegating 40 million ADA to seven builder DReps and an additional 220 million ADA to 11 DReps, while reducing the Foundation's self-delegation to 80 million ADA to minimize influence.

Additionally, the Cardano Core Develop Team has secured proposals to use 96 million ADA for upgrades in the coming year, and a policy center has been established to advance blockchain applications in health and agriculture. The Foundation is also sunsetting its SPO delegation strategy to focus on financial sustainability and broader ecosystem support.
