Wormhole Labs has launched Sunrise, a new liquidity and data gateway designed to facilitate the seamless entry of external assets into the Solana ecosystem. Announced on November 23, 2025, Sunrise aims to address the persistent issue of liquidity fragmentation in cross-chain transfers by providing a standardized pathway for tokens to migrate to Solana while retaining their native utility.

The platform leverages Wormhole's Native Token Transfers (NTT) framework, enabling assets to move between blockchains without relying on traditional bridges or isolated liquidity pools. This ensures that tokens arriving on Solana behave like native assets, ready for immediate use in decentralized applications (dApps) and exchanges.

MON, the native token of the Monad Layer-1 blockchain, will be the first supported asset, with trading scheduled to go live on November 24, 2025. Upon arrival through Sunrise, MON will be instantly tradable on major Solana-based platforms such as Jupiter and Orb, providing day-one liquidity across the ecosystem. Monad, which raised $225 million in a funding round led by Paradigm in early 2024, represents a high-profile test case for the gateway.

Wormhole Labs CEO Saeed Badreg emphasized that Sunrise reduces friction for developers and users, stating, "Sunrise gives any asset from any chain a liquid on-ramp to trade on Solana at TGE (Token Generation Event). With Wormhole’s fast NTT infrastructure behind it, MON is only the start." The Solana Foundation has expressed strong support, with growth lead Kuleen Nimkar noting, "Products like Sunrise are a critical part of enabling Solana’s vision for internet capital markets by giving non-native assets a seamless, high-liquidity path into the network."

Looking ahead, Wormhole Labs plans to expand Sunrise's asset catalog to include tokenized commodities, synthetic equities, and institutional-grade real-world assets (RWAs), positioning Solana as a hub for next-generation, internet-native capital markets.
