Binance has announced its support for a major upgrade and hard fork of the Ontology (ONT) network, scheduled for December 1, 2025. Deposits and withdrawals for all tokens on the Ontology network, including ONT and Ontology Gas (ONG), will be temporarily suspended starting at 10:00 UTC on December 1, 2025, to facilitate a smooth implementation of the technical updates and protect user assets.

The upgrade includes a significant reduction in the total supply of ONG, from 1 billion to 800 million tokens, resulting in a permanent burn of 200 million ONG. While the circulating supply of ONG is not expected to change immediately after the upgrade, it may decline to approximately 750 million in the future due to Ontology's permanent locking mechanism. Binance has assured users that spot trading for ONT and ONG will remain unaffected during this period, and services will resume once network stability is confirmed post-upgrade.
