London-based blockchain football management game Soccerverse has announced a landmark licensing partnership with FIFPRO, the global representative body for professional footballers. The deal, effective December 10, 2025, grants Soccerverse the rights to use the real names and images of over 65,000 active professional players from more than 70 national player associations.

The agreement marks a significant step in bridging the Web3 gaming industry with mainstream sports, injecting unprecedented authenticity into the blockchain gaming space. Players from major footballing nations including England, France, Italy, Argentina, Portugal, Belgium, Scotland, Norway, and Sweden will now be virtually represented. This allows Soccerverse managers to sign, trade, and build squads with real-world stars, from iconic veterans to emerging talents, within a dynamic in-game economy that mirrors the real football transfer market.

"Partnering with FIFPRO is a landmark moment for Soccerverse and a massive win for our community," said Soccerverse CEO Andrew Gore. "Trust and authenticity are critical to our vision, and this license is our commitment to building a legitimate football universe. This is a true partnership that also supports FIFPRO's vital mission, providing a global platform for the entire collective of players."

FIFPRO expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating it values partners who "innovate and rethink the norm" and that Soccerverse's community-driven approach aligns with the organization's forward-looking mindset.

Soccerverse, built on the Polygon network and launched in January 2025, is a community-owned simulation where each club is an NFT-like asset. The game currently features over 2,000 active managers guiding 5,350 clubs across a tiered league system, with matches simulated twice weekly. The integration of real player identities is planned for a game update in the coming weeks, fundamentally changing squad assembly and player valuation within the game's marketplace.
