The XRP Ledger Foundation (XRPLF) has issued an urgent alert to node operators, calling for an immediate upgrade to the newly released rippled 3.0.0 software. This major version introduces critical performance improvements and essential fixes to the ledger's core, including a resolution for a bug discovered in the Token Escrow mechanism.
The release adds three new, currently disabled amendments: LendingProtocol, DynamicMPT, and fixDelegateV1_1. The XRPLF notes these are "nearly code complete" but not yet open for community voting. A key feature of this update allows operators to test rippled behavior in standalone mode before proposed amendments are activated on the main network, aiming to reduce implementation risks.
However, the community faces a significant challenge with adoption. XRPL dUNL validator "Vet" highlighted a persistent reluctance to adopt key amendments. Data from XRPSCAN shows several critical fixes, including fixIncludeKeyletFields, fixMPTDeliveredAmount, fixTokenEscrowV1, and fixPriceOracleOrderfix, have reached only 20.59% consensus. The AMMClawbackRounding amendment is even lower at 17.65%, far from the 80% threshold required for activation.
Vet emphasized that while innovation is needed, active participation in voting and rigorous testing are paramount for network stability. He cited past incidents like the AMM bug and a recently caught Permission Delegation bug as examples where thorough testing prevented potentially devastating consequences for XRP holders. The stability and advancement of the XRP Ledger are directly tied to operator participation in validating and adopting this new version.
In related security news, the XRP explorer xrpscan announced its integration with Chainabuse. This collaboration will enable the platform to flag suspicious accounts reported to Chainabuse and redirect scammed users to report fraudulent activities within the crypto ecosystem.
