Pi Network has launched a major holiday commerce initiative aimed at accelerating real-world adoption within its ecosystem. The campaign, which ran through the holiday period, involved over 220 participating merchants worldwide accepting Pi cryptocurrency for purchases. These merchants include both local businesses and online services integrated with Pi-supported applications.
The initiative was coordinated through the PiFest channel in the Fireside Forum organized by the Pi Core Team, with Pioneers, app developers, and local merchants all participating. Users could spend Pi both in person and through Mainnet commerce applications, with the network encouraging community members to share their shopping experiences using the hashtag #PiNetwork for a chance to win exclusive merchandise.
Pi Network supported a community raffle program with 100 winners set to receive Pi-branded merchandise like t-shirts and hats. The raffle was positioned as a community engagement effort rather than a financial incentive, with no token rewards offered and participation requiring no additional spending. Geographic availability covers more than 220 countries and regions, with fulfillment handled by a third-party provider.
The holiday campaign coincides with Pi Network's ongoing Mainnet migration and ecosystem development. As of Q3 2025, Pi Network has approximately 47 million registered users, with 15.7 million Mainnet users currently active. The network currently features more than 215 live Mainnet applications spanning commerce, services, and entertainment use cases.
Seasonal updates were rolled out to support the initiative, including limited-time design changes in games such as FruityPi, a merge-type game built on Pi that received holiday-themed visual updates incorporating payments and power-ups in-game. The network integrated the holiday commerce initiative into the app's background interface to help users browse participating merchants and applications more easily.
While community response has been mixed, with some members urging Pi Network to focus on larger utilities like travel, logistics, and international e-commerce systems, the project maintains its focus on patience, involvement, and practical use. The network has repeatedly stated that Pi has no official market price and that ecosystem activities should not be confused with trading or exchange listings.
The holiday commerce event reflects Pi Network's broader strategy of testing and expanding practical usage within its Mainnet environment, emphasizing utility over speculation as the network continues its development toward a more open and usable ecosystem.
