Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has officially opened its traditional finance trading suite to all users, following a highly successful private beta phase that attracted over 80,000 waitlist signups. The public launch enables Bitget's entire user base to trade 79 traditional financial instruments spanning metals, forex, indices, and commodities, all settled in USDT and accessible directly from existing Bitget accounts.
The expansion represents a strategic evolution for Bitget into what the company calls a "Universal Exchange," combining digital assets with traditional markets on a single platform. During the December beta phase, XAU/USD gold trading alone recorded over $100 million in single-day volume, representing one of the strongest performances in the test period according to company statements released on Sunday.
The TradFi suite is specifically designed to allow crypto-native traders to execute macro-driven strategies without switching platforms. All instruments are settled in USDT, eliminating the need for separate fiat accounts or traditional brokerage relationships. Bitget refined liquidity depth, spreads, and leverage options during the beta based on user feedback gathered from the initial testing phase.
"Traders want the flexibility to choose between assets in a unified ecosystem," said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. "They want the freedom to move between crypto and traditional markets as conditions change. TradFi going public is about giving them that accessibility in one place, without friction."
The addition of traditional finance instruments positions Bitget as a comprehensive gateway to global markets rather than purely a crypto venue. This move reflects broader industry trends as cryptocurrency exchanges expand beyond digital assets to capture traders seeking cross-market diversification and macro hedging strategies within a single interface. Industry analysts suggest this convergence of traditional and digital finance represents a significant evolution in trading paradigms, potentially attracting institutional investors seeking comprehensive platforms that bridge both financial worlds.
